Trails: One-Click Payments, Low Fees, and How it Works

What is Trails and Why Should I Trust It?

Trails is your smart, easy way to handle crypto transactions across different blockchains. It takes complicated actions—like bridging a token and then swapping it—and turns them into a single, reliable step.

  • Core Value: 1-click transacting across all EVM chains. You don't have to worry about manual bridges or using the right native gas token.
  • Trust and Safety: Trails is a trustless protocol. We don't hold your funds; we simply execute your intentions using secure, proven on-chain infrastructure.
  • Audited Security: We maintain 99.99% uptime and have been thoroughly audited by top security firms, including Consensys Diligence and QuantStamp, so you can transact with confidence.

Understanding Trails Fees

We've designed our fees to be transparent and fair, and we always find the path for your transaction.

  • Volume-Based Savings: Our fee actually scales down the larger your transaction is. For example, the fee for a $1000 transaction will be cheaper than the fee for a $10 transaction.
  • All-in-One Cost: The price you see in the quote is the final price. It covers everything: the protocol fee, the cost of liquidity providers, and any necessary bridge fees.
  • Optimized Routing: Trails automatically scans the crypto landscape and optimizes for the cheapest and fastest route possible for your funds, ensuring the best execution currently available.

What If My Wallet Shows an "Unknown Contract"?

If you see a warning that you're interacting with an "unknown contract," don't worry—this is normal.

  • How Trails Works: To ensure your specific transaction is executed securely, Trails creates a unique contract address for every action. Since this particular address is brand new, some wallet providers will alert you that you haven't approved it before.

Protecting Your Funds: Failed Transactions and Refunds

In the rare event a transaction doesn't complete, we have an automatic refund system to protect your assets.

  • Initial Failure: If the transaction fails before leaving your starting chain, you will receive a refund on the source chain.
  • Final Step Failure: If the funds successfully bridged but the final step on the destination chain fails, the refund will be sent to your original sender address on the destination chain.

Important Note: If you are using an Abstract Global Wallet, be careful executing transactions where you don’t have access to that same wallet on the destination chain.
